Movie meter: The Imitation Game (2014)

The story of Alan Turing making it his life’s work to crack the Enigma code to stop the Second World War.

Man, what a movie. Seeing the story behind the last world war and discovering what Turing and his colleagues’ work did to shorten it is very interesting. The movie presents the audience with several human dilemmas which, if I were in their shoes, I don’t know which decisions I would have made.

Throughout the movie the discussion of man versus machine is a lively one and I couldn’t help but think about our current endeavours with artificial intelligence. Turing stood at the foundation for the computer. We are only people, we aren’t machines.

Every single actor shows brilliant acting skills and the emotions and responses feel sincere.

If you’re into historical movies and great story telling this one is a must watch.
